Dean Solden is a prolific musician and writer - jazz pianist, composer, arranger, singer songwriter, and has written more than 80 songs and compositions. He has toured with a major artist and played various jazz venues and concerts around the United States and in Europe.

He has a degree in jazz and classical music and loves to play all styles –
sometime together – jazz, classical, country and pop/rock. Many of his songs are piano vocal pieces in the Billy Joel/Elton John genre,

and his jazzy” originals have been compared with Mose Allison,

Van Morrison and Harry Connick, Jr.

Dean Solden  is now a playwright,  having in 2016 written his first play, a one man “musical memoir” called, “I’m Going to Take You Home Tonight”

a musical journey where he takes the audience back to his roots

on the Jersey Shore, and introduces his listeners to

four crucially important people in his life,

his sister, mother, daughter and
wife.  (See song “Four Special Women”).

In 2024 he has penned a new one man show, entitled,

“That’s Just the Way Life Goes,”

incorporating many of the songs presenting here in this website.

Dean also loves teaching music and being a music educator.

In the 1980’s and 1990’s Dean and his wife Sari owned and operated one of the first rock and roll schools, called “The Music School”

a school of jazz and rock in Marin County, California.

He has created a two musical education shows,

“From Miles to Mozart,” and “The Art of Creativity”

which are both entertaining and educational – at the same time!

To book these shows, see below.

In his day “gig,” he has worked in the senior living industry,

where he has a passion for providing wonderful senior communities

for people as they get older. Combining his two passions,

he has written music video’s for seniors and staff.

(See the Senior Music Video’s tab for three enlightening video’s).

For over twenty years Dean has had a wonderful time acted as a musical Master of Ceremonies for a national health care organization, producing a Talent Show for them. As he says in one of his songs, “I’ll be 50 tomorrow, hope for more time to borrow, so far it’s been a mighty fine ride.”
